Bends<\/h3>\n<p>David Gilmour has a myriad of ways he expresses himself, not the least of which are his bending techniques which I have notated here.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3346\" src=\"https:\/\/vancouverguitarlessons.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/5.-Bends-1024x708.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"708\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>6. Rakes<\/h3>\n<p>A hallmark of Gilmour&#8217;s playing, rakes are a constant in his solos. This technique adds emphasis to notes via the percussive nature of the sound it creates.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3347\" src=\"https:\/\/vancouverguitarlessons.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/6.-Rakes-1024x475.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"475\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>7. Motifs\/Repetition<\/h3>\n<p>David Gilmour&#8217;s use of this technique is all over his solos.\u00a0 This is part of the charm that makes his solos so memorable.\u00a0 If it sounds good once it will sound good again.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3348\" src=\"https:\/\/vancouverguitarlessons.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/7.-Theme-Repetition-1024x729.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"729\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>8. Tremolo Bar Vibrato<\/h3>\n<p>For this technique you will need a floating tremolo unit to vibrato the way Gilmour does.\u00a0 A floating trem. makes one able to pitch above and below the target note creating a nice even vibrato.\u00a0 I go through methods on how to set up a Stratocaster tremolo in this video that will help keep it in tune.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3349\" src=\"https:\/\/vancouverguitarlessons.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/8.-Tremolo-Bar-Vibrato-1024x311.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"311\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Anyway, video is below.
